Urumqi officials look into IT and logistics operations

Authorities from the Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone looked into the zone's information technological construction and logistics information operations from Oct 20 to 21.

Xue Jihai, secretary of the district committee, led a panel to visit Lvgu community, Xinjiang Software Park and Tianshun Supply Chain Co and asked detailed questions about engineering construction, infrastructure matting, pipe networks and road greening.

The Xinjiang Software Park Co reported on the park's construction, operations, investment attraction and further development ideas.

"Occupying an area of 400,000 square meters and with an investment of 2.8 billion yuan ($413 million) the park is the zone's major move in response to China's Belt and Road Initiative," said Bi Zhonghua, president of the company.

He added that the software park is now undertaking the pipe network and road construction and landscaping and plans to finish construction by Oct 30.

After hearing the company's report, Xue Jihai said that all related departments of the software park construction should raise their efficiency and complete the task carefully and in an innovative way.

The panel visited informationization logistics companies including the Tianshun Supply Chain Co on Oct 21.

The Tianshun Supply Chain Co introduced its newly-developed platform providing supply chain services including storage, purchasing and financial regulation to the officials.

"The company should train more logistics talents for further development," said Xue Jihai.
