Tai'an sees boom in tourism during 8-day holiday

Tai'an, East China's Shandong province saw a boom in tourism during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival from Oct 1 to 8.

Official data showed that tourists made over 1.11 million trips to 15 scenic spots monitored by local government, generating revenues of 62.26 million yuan ($9.3 million).

The Fourth Tai'an Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season event was launched during the holiday and issued consumption vouchers worth 300,000 yuan to stimulate tourism market.

The Dai Temple Scenic Area hosted an exhibition featuring royal sacrificial utensil from Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) and themed activities featuring intangible cultural heritage items, adding a festive touch to the holiday.
