Hunchun performance group attends culture festival in Sokcho

The Hunchun Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication Bureau recently sent a delegation of more than 30 artists to perform at a cultural festival held in the ROK's Sokcho city.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of friendly ties between Hunchun and Sokcho. Every year, the two cities carry out diverse cultural exchanges, such as a Chinese and Korean song competition.
Artists from Hunchun staged two special performances and three street tours, where they passed around publicity brochures introducing Hunchun to local residents to promote the city’s presence.
Artists from both cities provided a feast of music and dance to the audience, especially a bilingual rendition of the song Five-Starred Red Flag which ignited the passion of everyone in the theater.
The mayor and parliamentary speaker of Sokcho, as well as those in charge of the cultural festival were present and watched the performance. One of the guests at the event said that the activity helps improve cultural exchanges between Hunchun and foreign countries and serves as a bridge for bilateral friendship.
