Yellow River wetland protection network has new member from Inner Mongolia

Daihai wetland reserve in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia autonomous region joined the Yellow River wetland protection network recently after it applied for membership in September.

Daihai Lake, the third largest inland lake in Inner Mongolia, measures about 25 kilometers from west to east and around?20 kilometers from north to south. The lake has an area of 160 square kilometers. There are 56 varieties of plants in its wetland area measures 27,000 hectares. It was ranked a national 4A scenic spot in 2009.

As a member of the Yellow River wetland protection network, Daihai wetland is expected to improve technology for wetland protection and professional training.

Established in Oct 21, 2014, the protection network comprises wetland parks, research institutions and social groups. This initiative fuels the proper utilization of resources and sustainable development in the Yellow River wetlands.
