On Feb 2, the Kunshan delegation led by Ren Xueyuan, Deputy Secretary of the Standing Committee of Kunshan People’s Congress, went to Huaqiao International Service Business Park to survey the construction of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone.
During the survey, the visiting delegation listened to the report on the construction of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone. The group asked for details about the functional plan, construction progress, organization and leadership of the zone, and the application for a state-level cooperation zone. They affirmed the achievements of the zone and expressed active support of the construction of the zone in the capacity of the People’s Congress.
The planned area of the Cross-Straits (Kunshan) Trade Cooperation Zone is 4.4 square kilometers. Efforts will be made to shape the zone into a modern trade zone integrating the centralized purchase, wholesale, retail, exhibition and display of Taiwan products (commodities) and business offices.
After completion at the end of 2015, it will form a trade scale of daily human traffic of 30,000 persons for business, an annual trade volume of 50 billion yuan, and an import and export amount of 10 billion dollars.
