Research Report, No.242, 2021 (Total 6307) 2021-9-3

Abstract: Extended energy big data is an important part of a digital China, which is conducive to seizing the information initiative in the new round of industrial revolution to enhance the decision-making capacity, beneficiary to developing a large data center to optimize the overall innovation layout, and helpful to the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality to realize China’s green transformation. Therefore, it has become an effective tool to address the issues concerning high-quality development of energy and the socioeconomic system. In light of the rapid development of data centers and government open data platforms in China and the primary establishment of energy big data platform system, it is necessary to ensure the system foundation for developing extended energy big data through a legal and policy system for coordinated development of energy and economy. Based on the regional development strategy of China, pilot demonstration areas of extended energy big data need to be built quickly to promote the optimization of energy resources and innovative factor configuration for extended energy big data. Seizing the opportunity of the new electricity system with building new energy as the main part, we need to actively push ahead the application of extended energy big data, serving the strategies of “Peak Carbon Emission” and “Carbon Neutrality” as well as the high-quality social and economic development.

Keywords: extended energy big data, peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, regional development strategy, pilot demonstration areas
