The 14th Sino-French Economic Symposium co-sponsored by DRC, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Shanghai Municipal Government and France China Committee, was held in Shanghai from April 10 to 11, 2007. A delegation of French business leaders headed by Former French President Giscard d’Estaing attended the conference. DRC Vice President Li Jiange made remarks at the opening ceremony. Mme. Sun Lanlan, Director General of DRC’s International Cooperation Department, chaired the Round Table entitled “Innovation and International Cooperation”. Mr. Li Zhijun, Deputy Director General of DRC’s Research Department of Techno-economy, delivered a keynote speech on the topic. Senior executives from both countries had heated discussions on the relationship between China’s innovation strategy and international cooperation among Chinese and foreign companies. About 500 delegates attended the conference.
