The Xixia Mausoleum National Archaeological Site Park in Yinchuan, Ningxia, has seen a surge in tourist visits following the official inscription of the Xixia Imperial Tombs into the UNESCO World Heritage List on July 11.[Photo/Xinhua]

On July 13, streams of visitors from across the country explored the ancient site, eager to experience the unique cultural and historical charm of China's newest World Heritage Site. Drone photos captured crowds touring the vast archaeological landscape, home to the royal tombs of the Western Xia dynasty (1038–1227).

The inclusion of Xixia Imperial Tombs into the prestigious list has not only elevated its global profile but also ignited public interest in this lesser-known yet culturally significant relic of China's multi-ethnic history. Local authorities anticipate continued high visitor numbers throughout the summer season.
