Prince Kung's Palace Museum launched its fashion brand to revitalize traditional culture on Monday with a ceremony held at the museum's iconic Yin'an Hall. The "Kung Fashion" brand's 2026 early spring collection features 72 pieces that blend traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern design.

The museum's leadership emphasizes that the initiative aims to make cultural heritage relevant to today's lifestyles through creative reinterpretation.

The collection draws direct inspiration from the museum's architectural details and natural landscapes, featuring silhouettes that mimic the flowing wisteria vines in the courtyard, patterns that replicate the intricate begonia-shaped lattice windows, and color schemes that reflect the play of light in the bamboo gardens.

International designer Laurence Xu has collaborated on the project and explains that ancient techniques were applied using contemporary methods, such as thread-wrapping and gold-thread embroidery.

The result is wearable art that appeals to modern consumers while preserving traditional craftsmanship.

Since its fashion show debut in Paris in 2023, Prince Kung's Palace Museum has actively promoted Chinese culture through fashion. The Kung Fashion launch represents its latest efforts in helping traditional art forms evolve with contemporary life.

The brand plans seasonal releases and designer collaborations to maintain its innovative edge while staying true to its cultural roots.

Industry experts predict this model could set a new standard for cultural preservation in the fashion world.
