Lishui traditional crafts shine in Italy

An art exhibition celebrating the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations recently opened at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in Rome, Italy.
The exhibition features exquisite Chinese and Italian artworks including Longquan celadon and swords from Lishui, East China's Zhejiang province, captivating Italian guests with their craftsmanship.
The collection highlights the unique and shared aspects of both cultures, featuring traditional Chinese crafts like celadon, swords, paintings, embroidery, and jade carving, as well as Italian attire, pottery, and bronze artifacts.
Shen Xinpei, a Longquan sword maker, presents his work Xuanwu Sword, crafted with a pure copper hilt and ebony scabbard. Jin Yirui, a Longquan celadon maker, displays his celadon piece Chuzhan Zun, showcasing the stunning beauty of porcelain with its elegant form and distinctive glaze.
Shen expressed his honor in showcasing traditional Chinese forging techniques at the historic academy. Jin highlighted the meticulous effort that went into his celadon work, hoping Italian locals appreciate Longquan's millennia-old porcelain culture.
Maria Novella Rossi, an Italian TV journalist and sinologist, praised the artists for embedding timeless cultural narratives in their works, affirming that true tradition is a living, evolving legacy.
Pan Jiatao, deputy general manager of Hisense Italy, noted the growing Italian appreciation for Chinese brands, reflecting deeper bilateral ties.
