State Grid Jiaxing supports enterprise's green transition to clean energy

"Photovoltaic modules are in good condition, infrared temperature readings are normal, grounding resistance meets standards, inverter data is stable, and cable joints in the grid-connected cabinet show normal temperatures," said a technician from the State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company during an inspection at the Jiaxing Green Energy Environmental Technology Co Ltd.
The checkup marked the commissioning and evaluation of Phase I of the company's integrated clean energy and energy-saving project, which was recently completed and connected to the grid.
Since China officially announced its dual carbon goals in 2020—peaking carbon emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060—green development has become deeply embedded in national policy. In response, the State Grid Jiaxing has actively advanced energy conservation and emissions reduction efforts, accelerating the transformation of energy production and consumption, promoting efficient use of clean energy, and supporting the shift from controlling total energy consumption to managing carbon emissions. The Green Energy Environmental Technology project exemplifies these efforts.
As a model green and low-carbon kitchen waste treatment project, the facility adopts a "safe, low-carbon, efficient, smart and economical" development model. By integrating multiple energy sources and establishing an intelligent energy management platform, the project aims to become a benchmark for green factories under future energy systems. Phase I includes both distributed photovoltaic and biomass gas power generation, with the PV system—featuring an installed capacity of 493.8 kilowatts—officially connected to the grid on May 31.
During the inspection, technicians carefully examined inverters, DC distribution cabinets, and other key equipment to ensure stable and efficient system performance.
The distributed PV system is expected to generate about 465,200 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. With energy efficiency upgrades across the plant, electricity savings are projected to reach 418,700 kilowatt-hours per year—equivalent to reducing standard coal consumption by about 141.89 metric tons. Moreover, by cutting fossil fuel usage, the project is estimated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 378.67 metric tons annually, contributing significantly to regional air quality improvement and climate change mitigation.
Phase II will add more distributed PV capacity, new energy storage systems, and EV charging stations. These additions will further lower energy costs, enable surplus resource reuse, and enhance overall energy efficiency.
Looking ahead, the State Grid Jiaxing Power Supply Company will continue to uphold the principles of green development by expanding its investments and innovations in clean energy. The company remains committed to exploring new approaches to energy conservation, advancing the region's energy structure transformation, and supporting a more stable and sustainable path toward China's dual carbon goals.
