The 4th China-New Zealand Arts Festival 2025 "Conversation and Connection" Voices of Our Ancestors Concert was held at the Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand on May 18.

At the concert, musicians reorchestrated four Maori folk songs, including Pokarekare Ana, Matangi, Tarakihi and Hine E Hine, for chamber music. The songs were performed in both Chinese and Maori. At the same time, Chinese poetry was rearranged into chamber music by musicians according to the instruments and performing styles, harmonizing beautifully with Maori melodies. The fusion of Maori folk songs and Chinese poetry illustrated the idea that music has no borders.

The concert was hosted by the China Cultural Center in Auckland and co-organized by the Asian Community Engagement Trust.
