Gu Yucai, president of the Chinese Society of Cultural Relics, emphasized that it is crucial to focus on 20th-century architectural heritage as it plays a significant role in shaping the country's modern civilization and advancing Chinese-style modernization.

Gu urged the proper study of modern and contemporary architecture which has witnessed the growth of New China, as well as works by important architects. Vitalizing those old buildings for new purposes and integrating them into the country's urban renewal is key, he emphasized.

Wu Jiang, the incoming president of the Asian Architects Association, believes that the efforts made over the past decade to select ten batches of China's 20th-century architectural heritage are vital for studying and preserving the country's architectural cultural heritage. He also considered this practice a valuable example for other Asian countries to follow in their efforts to safeguard modern architectural heritage.

Ma Guoxin, a renowned architect and academician at the Chinese Academy of Engineering, praised the committed efforts of the committee and the involvement of experts and scholars. He advised that the concept of the 20th-century architectural heritage be further explained and promoted.
