Two cases of monkeypox isolated in Beijing

Beijing reported two cases of the monkeypox virus infection on Tuesday.
According to the official website of the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control, one of them is an imported case and another is its related case. They both got infected via close contact with a previously infected person.
The municipal and district medical institutions have carried out epidemiological survey, virus tracing and medical treatment. Now the two cases are in stable condition and isolated in a designated hospital.
Caused by the monkeypox virus, monkeypox was mainly prevalent in Central and West Africa. It has been detected in 111 countries and regions around the world. On May 11, the World Health Organization declared that monkeypox was no longer a "public health emergency of international concern."
