Number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients decreasing in China


Chinese mainland registered 37,611 COVID-19 hospitalized infections on Thursday, including 424 severe cases, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention said on Saturday.
The number of hospitalized infections fell from 98,742 a week ago on Feb 2.
Among the serious cases recorded on Thursday, 46 were caused by the COVID-19 infection alone and 378 were caused by a combination of the infection and other existing illnesses.
From Feb 3 to Thursday, the mainland reported 912 COVID-19-related deaths at hospitals, down from 3,278 cases reported during the previous 7-day period.
Twenty-seven deaths were caused by COVID-19-induced respiratory failure and the remainder were associated with the infection as well as other underlying diseases.
By Thursday, the mainland had fully vaccinated about 1.28 billion people, including over 230 million people aged 60 and above.
