A report released by the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs in Beijing on Thursday said a number of companies at home and abroad have undertaken the tasks of pollution control and emissions reduction, and promoted low-carbon transformation in their supply chain.

The results of an evaluation published 2022 Green Supply Chain CITI Index and Corporate Climate Action (CATI) Index showed 74.2 percent of the companies concerned have publicly committed to supply chain environmental management and climate governance, up 45 percent from the previous year.

This year's evaluation covered 650 Chinese and international companies in 20 industrial sectors.

The report also showed more than 100 of the companies have employed innovative data-based solutions to carry out environmental and carbon oversight of their supply chains.

However, it also said a number of companies have not managed their environmental and carbon issues in their upstream supply chains, such as not requiring suppliers to set emissions reduction targets, or tracked progress via credible monitoring, reporting and verification.
