According to China Telecom, this line is covered by a 5G network.

Li Ningyun, who piloted the first train on the line, said it will be a challenge for drivers to operate trains through so many tunnels and bridges in the mountainous region.

"Our eyes have to adjust to the light very quickly when going in and out of the tunnels," he said.

"It is also difficult to control the speed on the steep tracks when approaching stations."

Li Kailan, director of the engineering department at Chongqing-Wanzhou Railway Co, said the line not only integrates Henan province, the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, but will also help boost regional development, especially in the Three Gorges Dam area.

"It is the first time for Chongqing's Yunyang, Fengjie and Wushan counties to have access to a high-speed railway," he said.
