Shanghai reports 29 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases


Shanghai reported 29 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 93 asymptomatic infections on Saturday, among which one confirmed case was found outside of quarantine and lockdown populations.
Zhao Dandan, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Health Commission, said at a municipal press briefing on Sunday that the case had mild symptoms and was reported by Pudong New Area during regular screening.
The infection was had by a man living in a neighborhood in Huamu sub-district in Pudong and the epidemiological investigation shows that he never left his community during the past two weeks. The community has been disinfected. All the close and secondary close contacts have been quarantined and their tests were negative by 8 am Sunday.
The press briefing also announced that beginning in June people will need to have a negative nucleic acid test result taken within 72 hours when entering public venues or public transportation.
