Wuhan: Leishenshan Hospital Undergoing Quality Check Before Phased Delivery

After more than 10 days of round-the-clock construction, the Leishenshan Hospital in Wuhan has entered the stage of quality check before being delivered in a phased manner. The first batch of medical workers for the hospital has amassed and will start treating patients.
Construction of the hospital began on 26 January. With very limited time and a formidable task at hand, a 10,000-strong team has been working round the clock to complete the project.
Modeled on a field hospital, the Leishenshan Hospital houses several modules, including a medical treatment area, a medical supplies zone, and an auxiliary zone. Covering an area of about 328 mu (219,000 square meters), the hospital has a floor space of 79,900 square meters. Once in full operation, it can accommodate 1,600 beds and over 2,000 health workers. The wards are now under preparation and equipment is being tested.
The first group of more than 110 medical professionals are the best from the Hubei Cancer Hospital and the Wuhan No.1 Hospital, while all medical technicians are seconded from Tier-Three hospitals. Together they will be put in charge of treating NCP-infected patients at the Leishenshan Hospital.
