Xia to lead Evonik's local unit from Jan 1
Evonik Industries AG, the German specialty chemicals producer, appointed Xia Fuliang (pictured) as president of its China unit. He will take office on Jan 1. Former president Claas Klasen will retire at the end of this year. The company said Xia's appointment can help promote localization in the Chinese market. Xia has more than 20 years' experience in specialty chemicals and cross-cultural region management.
Wong Chi-fai to drive research at JLL China
Real estate consultancy JLL announced that Wong Chi-fai took up the position of head of research for JLL China earlier this month. He will work closely with JLL's team of over 60 researchers across China, to drive synergy and collaboration in the firm's research output. He joined Jones Lang Wootton, now known as JLL, in 1997 in Hong Kong as a regional economist, before he was appointed as the firm's head of research in 2000.
Liu lands key roles at China Energy Investment
Liu Guoyue, 56, was appointed general manager, deputy Party chief and a board member of China Energy Investment Corp in late November. In the past, Liu served as manager of the Shijiazhuang branch of China Huaneng Group in Hebei province, head of its power plant in Dezhou, Shandong province, and deputy general manager. He also worked as deputy general manager of State Grid Corp of China.
