Through reform efforts over the past several months, Xi said the overall leadership of the Party has been strengthened and Party and State institutions perform their duties more efficiently.

A sound and dynamic functional system throughout the central and local governments has been built up, reforms in military-civilian integration have progressed smoothly and other relevant institutional reforms have also been advanced, he said, adding that the overall effects of reforms have been strengthened.

Xi said that upholding the overall leadership of the CPC over institutional reforms and insisting on the optimization, coordination and efficiency of institutions' functions are valuable experiences learned from the latest institutional reforms.

Coordinating the reforms of both central and local departments and holding to the alignment of reform and the rule of law are also conducive to deepening reforms of Party and State institutions, he added.

While hailing the outcomes, Xi also called for further efforts to achieve more results in institutional reforms while taking into account the synergy of the long-term rule of the Party with improving the nation's governance.

He urged more intensive efforts to conduct transformations in important fields and key aspects.
